Top Flight return for Jess

Jess & Matt

Jess Holbrook sustained serious injury at the U20 World Cup finals in July 2010. After 8 months of hard rehab Jess joined Leeds to return to playing and to regain her confidence. Liverpool is assured that Jess is ready for a return to the top league.

Jess started her football career with Everton making her first team debut against Millwall in the 2008/9 season. Jess has represent England at U17 (12 caps), U19 (11 caps), and is a current member of the England U23 squad (2 caps). Jess was an important member of England’s U19 European Championship winning side in Belarus.

On signing for Liverpool Jess said: “This fantastic opportunity to join Liverpool came up and I couldn't say no. I'm looking forward to being part of it. The drive and ambitions the club have to be successful has impressed me the most. As a footballer, it's everything you could ever want.”

Jess assesses her best aspects of her game as her passing and her ability to get on the ball and make thing happen.

Liverpool Ladies manager Matt Beard commented: “I've been out watched Jess a few times this season for Leeds and I have to say she was one of the best midfielders in The FA Women's Premier League. Jess is coming to the club to be in our starting eleven and she provides good competition for places in an already talented midfield.”
