LIVERPOOL LADIES TO KICK OFF SEASON

Team back in competitive action this weekend

Liverpool Ladies will begin their 2012 season campaign this Sunday when they take on Birmingham in the FA Cup.

The tie is the first competitive game of 2012, ahead of the new FA Women’s Super League (WSL) season, which begins in April.

Liverpool Ladies face a difficult FA Cup 5th round away tie against last season’s FA WSL runners-up, Birmingham City.

Captain Vicky Jones said: “We know that Birmingham will be a tough game for us, they had a great season last year and have some fantastic players.

“Yet, we’re full of confidence going into the match and I think we have a very good chance. Our pre-season performances have been encouraging as we’ve improved with every game.

“I know the team can’t wait to get playing again and we want to kick off our season in style and progress to the next round of the FA Cup.”

The match will be played on Sunday 11 March at Stratford Town FC, 2pm KO.

Tickets are priced at £6.00 for adults and £3.00 for concessions.
