Liverpool Ladies play first away match at Chelsea on Sunday
Liverpool ladies are looking to kick start their season with a win away at Chelsea this weekend.
After defeat to Bristol Academy, following dubious refereeing decisions and costly spell of lost concentration, Liverpool are looking to take all three points at their first away game of the Women’s Super League (WSL) season.
Drawing confidence from a good victory away at Chelsea last season, the team is confident going into Sunday’s game at Staines Town FC.
Manager Robbie Johnson said: “We were really disappointed with the result against Bristol and if one or two decisions had been given our way the scoreline would have certainly been different.
“This season we want to get points on the board as early on as possible and we’re working hard to address the areas we need to improve on to get our first win.
“It will be a tough game as Chelsea looked strong in their 3-1 victory against Doncaster last week, but we know we’re more than capable of getting a good away result this weekend.
“We hope that any Liverpool fans based in London will come and cheer us on on Sunday.”
