Liverpool welcome local rivals Everton following their short hop across the city in what is set to be an exciting encounter.
The Ladies are hoping to put the misfortunes of last Sunday behind them and get back to winning ways with a victory over Everton Ladies in a crunch derby tie.
The Blues will be hoping to secure 2nd place as their own, where they currently share the standing with Birmingham City Ladies and Bristol Academy Women, each registering 15 points from 9 games.
Liverpool are 7th and will be looking to increase the distance between themselves and Doncaster Belles, who currently lie at the foot of the table
Manager Matt Beard has admitted the Merseyside derby holds similarities to a cup final, with both sides putting their pride and bragging rights of the city at stake.
Everton’s last result was a 2-2 draw with current league leaders Arsenal Ladies, and so far they have won 4, drawn 3, and lost 2 of their WSL games. The Blues’ top scorer and one for the Liverpool defence to keep under wraps is Toni Duggan, who has netted 4 times since starting all 9 of the Blue’s WSL games this season. She has also represented England over 30 times at U23, U20 and U19 levels.
The first derby of the season came back in May, where the Reds were beaten 2-0 at the Stobart Stadium Halton in Widnes.
Liverpool will be hoping for a better result this time round, capitalising on their run of recent improving performances.
