Goals Start to Flow

Still a work in progress but it was good to see Liverpool’s possession rewarded with eight goals. Blackburn rarely threatened and Liverpool kept a clean sheet.

On a cold evening and cheered on by a school side from Skelmersdale Natasha Dowie opened the scoring for Liverpool midway through the first half. By half time Lizie Ince and Katie Brusell had added contributions to make it 3 – 0.

Immediately in the second half Lillie Billson netted. Goals then flowed at a steady rate. To the pleasure of the large number of Americans in the crowd, Amanda Da Costa scored the next. To wrap up Lillie completed a brace and Natasha secured a hat-trick.

Looking forward to the English Teams v Scottish Teams weekend tournament at Halton Stadium: next up Liverpool v Glasgow Ranger KO 2pm on Saturday 16th Febuary followed by Doncaster Belles v Forfar KO 5pm. On the Sunday it will be Doncaster Belles v Glasgow Rangers KO 11am followed by Liverpool v Forfar KO 2pm.

Entry will be £2 for adults and £1 for concessions.
