Liverpool Ladies FC have signed two new players as they strengthen their squad ahead of the second half of the FA Womens Super League (FA WSL).
Centre halves Emma Jones, from WSL side Bristol Academy, and Beth Bailey from Nottingham Forest will join the squad ahead of their first game away at Arsenal on 24 July.
The players will help to bolster the Liverpool Ladies defence as the team looks to make their way up the league table.
Robbie Johnson, manager of Liverpool Ladies, said: “We’re very pleased to sign two new players of such quality, and it will stand us in good stead for the rest of the season.
“We’ve taken advantage of the mid-season break to focus on our training and tactics and we’re definitely ready for kick off.”
Emma Jones said: “I am extremely happy to join Liverpool Ladies at such a crucial time of the season. It is a new challenge for me but one I can’t wait to get started.
“The WSL is such a competitive league that nobody can predict what will happen in the second half. Hopefully this is Liverpool’s time to shine and that I can make a real contribution.
Emma and Beth will get a chance to make their home debut when Liverpool Ladies take on Bristol Academy at Skelmersdale United on 31 July.
